Starting from Langley Hotel Le Petit Prince, you have direct access to the slope right outside the hotel. From the village of Alpe d’Huez, the best way to easily access the full area is by taking the DMC Gondola which is located at the top of the village. After taking the DMC 1 gondola, you have the possibility to ski down towards Oz En Oisans or take the gondola DMC 2 further up. We recommend you take the DMC 2 up to Lac Blanc at an altitude of 2700 meters. From here, you can ski down some comfortable red slopes.
The top of Alpe d’Huez ski area is called Pic Blanc. Pic Blanc is easy to access by taking the next lift from DMC 2 and Lac Blanc. When reaching the top, there are a few different slopes to choose from. You have a few shorter red and blue slopes, but mostly black runs. Most of the black runs in Alpe d’Huez are not as steep as one might expect. They are suitable for intermediate skiers as well as experts. At Pic Blanc you will find one of the most famous runs called Sarenne. Sarenne is the longest black run in Europe, stretching a total of 16 km. The slope goes all the way from the highest peak down to Alpe d’Huez at an altitude of 1510 meters, giving you a total descend of over 1800 meters. A truly impressive run that will most likely become one of your favorites in the ski area.
As the ski area has several connecting villages, you will have more options than just Alpe d’Huez and Pic Blanc. From the different peaks, you can go down to villages below Alpe d’Huez, such as Vaujany, Oz En Oisans, Villard Reculas and Auris En Oisans. The many opportunities will ensure you get the most out of your skiing.
