Alpe d´Huez

Most famous for its murderous stage in the Tour de France cycling competition with a 13,8km long incline and 21 turns. However Alpe d'Huez offers great skiing for all levels and ages. It is the perfect family destination with an abundance of ski instructors, child slopes, restaurants and play areas.

The village is built vertically so to get to the city center you need to walk upwards, but there is a free lift with two stops that will take you from the bottom or top. From this lift you get a great view of the village and surrounding mountains. There are many popular restaurants and bars for those that wish to explore the town after the lifts close.

Alpe d'Huez has a spectacular glacier know as Pic Blanc towering over the village with an altitude of 3 330 meters. Up here the snow is always good and there are several groomed runs to chose from. If you venture offpist there is virtually limitless options to get back down to the village. We cooperate with one of the best mountain guides in the area and our reception will gladly help you make reservations.

The rest of the ski area offers several beginner friendly slopes as well as an abundance of red and blue runs. The higher you get towards the glacier, the steeper the terrain becomes. So beginners are best off using only the first 1-2 stops of the main lifts whilst experienced skiers should explore the entire mountain.
